What Our Clients Say

"From initial design to completed room addition, our experience with Daniel Mackey Construction has been a refreshingly pleasant one. They have been consistently on-time, on-budget, and on-call; quick to respond to our questions and concerns. They've been key problem solvers in designing solutions that are modern in execution, but match the arts and craft style of our 90+ year-old home. We are thrilled with the finished product and even more excited that we avoided the 'contractor nightmares' that so many others have experienced with other firms. We highly recommend Mackey Construction."

Minimizing Remodeling Disruptions

A home remodel means disruptions in the household routine and in the lives of the occupants of the home. The amount of disruption will depend on the scope of the project. The impact of installing new window treatments will be minimal but a whole house remodel or room addition is another matter. Tearing out walls, removing pipes and plumbing fittings, taking out electrical wires and fittings are never going to be clean easy jobs. At Daniel Mackey Construction we know that remodeling puts a strain on the family that lives in the house and we go out of our way to minimize the disruption and discomfort they are subjected to. People cannot put their lives on hold while their home is being remodeled – they need to carry on with their work, school and other activities and commitments. And when they are at home, they need to be as comfortable as possible despite the remodeling going on around them.

With over 30 years of experience behind us and a reputation for highest standards of workmanship and a dedication to client satisfaction, we know how to make life as easy as possible for the occupants while their home is being remodeled. We take time to understand any problems the family may face during the remodel and work towards finding solutions that will minimize the inconvenience while not delaying the pace of the work or inflating costs. It is not easy, but we take pride in our ability to give our client the best possible remodeling experience, in everyway.

We Go The Extra Mile

Planning your daily life during the remodel can go a long way towards making life easier. There are some things you cannot do without like hot meals, showers, clean clothes, beds etc. Staying at a motel or with friends during a major remodel is one option. If that is not viable, for any reason, we will develop a work plan that will allow for the microwave and fridge to be moved to a part of the home where they can continue to be used. Beds can be shifted to places where there is the least disturbance. If water has to be turned off for major plumbing work, we work with our clients to provide, as far as possible, temporary connections for showers and washing up.

Waste is a byproduct of home remodeling and it is not just dirty and unsightly; it can be unhealthy. We will work out waste control logistics to minimize the dust and dirt. We will route waste away from sensitive areas like gardens and ensure that it is removed regularly.

We keep clients informed about the timetables for the use of toxic or odorous materials such a finishes, glues etc. so that the house can be properly ventilated to ensure that they are not subjected to these pollutants.

There will always be some amount of dust in the air while remodeling is underway. We will minimize this to the maximum and work with clients to protect furniture, electronics and other items that could be affected by exposure to increased amounts of dust.

We keep lines of communications open and clear so that our clients always know what work is being done in their home, how long a specific job will take and how the work will affect them while they are in the house.

Your home remodeling experience does not have to be one of total disruption and discomfort. We at Daniel Mackey Construction will do everything possible to minimize any discomfort and inconvenience. We are known for creating dream homes for our clients. For us that means making the whole remodeling experience as stress free as possible so that the beauty of the remodeled home is not tainted by memories of excessive discomfort and inconvenience will the work was going on.
